Hey guys! Just now watched Transformers at TV...Although I watched it a couple of times I still like the action. Anyway, just liked I said, I'll be doing a game review today...so let's get started!
----------------------------------------------------------
Today I'm going to to review a popular PC game that you might've heard of...
Halo:Combat Evolved! Okay for those of you who don't know what's Halo about, it's a first-person shooter (FPS) video game developed by Bungie Studios. You play as the role of Master Chief, a cybernetically enchanced "SPARTAN" super soldier. Basically you fight the Covenant, an alliance of alien species as you and Cortona, an artificial intelligence who occupies Master Chief's nueral interface, uncover the secrets of Halo a ring-shaped structure.
Let's start off with the plot. It's amazing. It's quite different from those normal sci-fi games. It has cinematic scenes which will keep you entertained. I shall not spoil
the whole story to you, but there's a few dramatic plot twists, so be prepared for the surprise.
Next is the gameplay. If you're a fan of shooter games, this is a must-have, or at least a must-play, for you. There's a lot of fighting going on. From meleeing Grunts, throwing grenades at those annoying Elites to shooting rockets at the worth-fighting large Hunters. It keeps you wanting more. The vehicles are cool. You get to ride on Warthogs, "levivate" using Ghosts, or just fly around with a Banshee. The landscape is amazing. The outdoor has large areas, like snow fields and valleys. Now what I don't really enjoy is going indoors to those dark and wierd alien ships and such. Somethimes they repeat the same structure over and over again, and you'll eventually wonder when will you at last go outside.
Another are the graphics. Although the game was released in 2005, don't underestimate tis old game. The graphics are quite well for a game of that year, even better than some recent games. But like any of those old games, there's always glitches, whether you're warthog's stuck to a wall, or you just seem to not aim properly, it can be quite entertaining at times.
The sound is as good as any true games. It enchances the gameplay and you'll soemtimes get a surprise when you hear plasma launchers getting louder. The voice actors did a great job in keeping it real too.
Next is the multiplayer. I enjoyed it very much, especially the maps. If you get tired of the campaign, do try the multiplayer and play with some friends, you'll realise it's an addictive shooter game. You can edit the weapons and vehicles on the maps to make the gameplay more exciting. The multiplayer offers game types such as capture the flag(CTF), race, and the classic slayer.
Now for the replay value. If you just finished the game, I don't think you'll want to play the 1st level again where you start the tutorial and such. But Halo: Combat Evolved let's player play a specific level they completed before. Since each level provides different feeling to the game, it is worth it.
Okay now here are my ratings:
Plot-8.5/10
Gameplay-9/10
Graphics-7/10
Sound-7.5/10
Multiplayer-8.5/10
Replay value-8/10
Overall rating-8/10
